A little about me:

I had a job interview last month were I was asked to describe myself in one word. The possible answers that ran through my head kind of say it all: 1. human (discarded for the d'oh-ness, but truest, really). 2. indecisive (discarded for not making a good impression, but accurate since I could not settle on one fitting yet appropriate word). 3. intelligent (what I went for in the end, cause I needed something and I think its as true as about a gazillion other words. Maybe more so. More than option 2, really). I was born in '78, have been called a collector of academic degrees, and have too many books, too many websites, and not enough time. And plants, lots of plants. I am also not good at writing my own biography. So there.

Online, I can be found at:

  • GIRL in the Middest
My Blogthing. Named after a quote by Frank Kermode, who says that we are all men living 'in the middest,' and yearning for concords with beginnings and ends - the complete quote is on my website, so that might be an incentive to go there actually - my blog certainly isn't all that exiting, I don't think. Mostly I babble about my thesis a lot right now. So, if you're interested in "The Dichotomy between Science and Religion in Anglo-American (Post-)Apocalyptical Fiction", come on over! Other things I talk about are a webcam taking pictures of birds, work as a teacher at the uni and translator on media events, computers, soccer, spoofing sci-fi shows and movies in silly songs I make, ..., stuff.
